Natural wetlands, flooding areas and ecological engineering

30 October 2018

Ponds, wetlands and temporary flooding areas are part of green and blue corridors and provide many ecosystem services, improve biodiversity, eliminate pollutants, recreate the natural water cycle, provide flood prevention and climate change impacts resilience.

They are key elements in development project of any urban, rural or natural area. In addition, these facilities play an important role on agricultural production sites, providing water supply for irrigation, for nutrient supply (fertigation), for groundwater recharge, for fish farming and aquaponics. For these reasons, we ensure optimisation of their design and implementation.

We also apply ecological engineering to enhance natural streams and water bodies as well improve their water quality and biodiversity.
