Climate change adaptation for the water sector using nature-based solutions

25 February 2021

Nature-based solutions can be applied to different stages of the water cycle to contribute to climate change adaptation, while providing additional functions. This does not prevent the coexistence of green and grey infrastructure.

Naturem Solutions has applied these principles during its contribution to the final stage of the study on Climate Change Adaptation Vulnerability and Risk Assessment for the construction and operation of public wastewater sanitation and stormwater pumping works, as well as drinking water production and distribution facilities in Wallonia (Belgium). This project has been carried out by the J.V. Almadius – ABV Development on behalf of the Public Company for Water Management (SPGE) and public drinking water production and distribution utilities (SWDE, CILE and InBW).
