Constructed wetlands for the treatment of groundwater and surface water contaminated with explosives

During the summer of 2018, NATUREM SOLUTIONS carried out, on behalf of consultancy ALMADIUS, a feasibility study for an industrial customer in Belgium. The aim was to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of treating a resurgence of groundwater and surface water by different types of constructed wetlands (including vegetated filters) without electricity consumption. The water was contaminated with chlorinated solvents, TNT and RDX. The study also involved comparison with more classical intensive technologies.
